Whiskey Instructions 2021

**PLEASE NOTE THE FRESH MIXES AND GARNISHES ARE DESIGNED TO BE CONSUMED WITHIN 2-3 WEEKS FROM THE DATE RECEIVED**

Please keep all fresh items refrigerated until consumption.

 

*We have included a small red solo cup to be used as your measure.  The line near the bottom is the measure for .5 oz.  The cup full is 2 oz.  Anytime you are measuring less than 2 oz, we recommend using the measure of .5 oz to the cumulative total required for your drink.

** We recommend opening the packages using scissors if you have them available.  Please cut above the reseal line.  Once open, if resealing to use some at a later point, we recommend keeping the package upright and sealed until using again.

***We have included a pour spout for use with your Whiskey bottle.

**** This kit is designed to create 2 of each of the cocktails listed below if you have chosen the BFA option, 4 if you have ordered the Social format.

 

 

Brighter Days

Rye, rum, mint, sugar

 

What you will need to build this drink

 

  • Rye whiskey
  • Pouch marked mint rum
  • Shaker jar
  • Plastic bag
  • Red solo cup measure
  • Ice for building
  • Garnish skewer
  • Mint leaves candy garnish
  • Kitchen towel (not included)
  • Ice for building and serving

 

How to build this drink

 

  1. Using your selected glass, fill it 1 and a half times and add that amount of ice to the bag provided
  2. Wrap the bag in a kitchen towel
  3. Using the mason jar, a frying pan, or a meat tenderizer, crush the ice by smashing the towel wrapped bag of ice (if using the mason jar go easy, and take your time with this step)
  4. Fill your glass with ¾ of the crushed ice and save the rest for later
  5. Measure 1.5 oz from the whiskey bottle (or pour your mini whiskey) and add to the shaker jar
  6. Measure 2.5 oz from the pouch marked mint rum, and add to the shaker jar
  7. Add about ¼ cup of ice to the shaker jar (not the crushed ice)
  8. Replace the ring and cover back to the shaker jar
  9. Shake the cocktail for 5-8 seconds
  10. Remove the ring and slide the cover off the jar just enough to strain the drink into the crushed ice filled glass
  11. Top the drink with the rest of the crushed ice
  12. Garnish with 2 mint leave candies on the bamboo garnish skewer



Blue Slumber

Rye, blueberry, lavender, lemon, egg whites,  

 

What you will need to build this cocktail

 

  • Rye whiskey bottle
  • Pouch marked blueberry
  • Pouch marked lavender
  • Pouch marked lemon
  • Pouch marked egg white
  • Shaker jar
  • Ice for building and serving
  • Red solo cup measure
  • Dried lavender garnish

 

How to build this cocktail

 

  1. Measure 1.5 oz of rye whiskey (or empty your mini) and add to the shaker jar
  2. Measure 1.5 oz from the pouch marked blueberry and add to the shaker jar
  3. Measure 1.0 oz from the pouch marked lavender and add to the shaker jar
  4. Measure 1.0 oz from the pouch marked lemon and add to the shaker jar
  5. Measure 0.5 oz from the pouch marked egg white and add to the shaker jar
  6. Replace the ring and cover to the jar and dry shake (no ice) as hard as you can for 30 seconds
  7. Remove the ring and cover from the shaker jar and add ¼ cup of ice 
  8. Replace the ring and cover back to the shaker jar and shake for an additional 10 seconds
  9. Remove the ring and slide the cover off the jar just enough to strain the cocktail into your glass of choice (This drink can be served straight up or on the rocks)
  10. Garnish with dried lavender over the foam




Smoked Maple Manhattan

Rye, vermouth, maple, bitters, cherry, smoke

 

What you will need to build this cocktail

 

  • Bottle of rye whiskey
  • Pouch marked maple vermouth
  • Mixing jar
  • Red solo cup measure 
  • Bar spoon (wooden skewer)
  • Wood chip
  • Lighter (not included)
  • Small plate (not included)
  • Bamboo garnish skewer
  • Amerena cherry
  • Ice for building
  • Recommended King cube for serving

 

How to build this cocktail

 

  1. Using a small plate in a well-ventilated area, light the wood chip on fire, and let burn as long as you can (the more embers you get, the richer smoke aromas will be worked into the profile of this cocktail) 
  2. Once you blow out the flame, immediately place the glass you have chosen for this drink over the smoking wood chip, trapping the smoke in the glassware
  3. Measure 1.5 oz from the rye whiskey bottle (or empty your mini), and add to the mixing jar
  4. Measure 1.5 oz from the pouch marked maple vermouth and add to the mixing jar
  5.  Add about ½ cup of ice to the mixing jar, and stir the drink using the bar spoon for 20 seconds
  6. Fill your smoked glass with a king cube or regular cubes
  7. Replace the cover to the mixing jar, leaving enough of an opening to strain the cocktail into your prepped glass
  8. Garnish with cherry on garnish skewer



April Showers

Rye, madeira, peach rhubarb shrub, lemon

 

What you will need to build this cocktail

 

  • Bottle of rye whiskey
  • Pouch marked madeira syrup
  • Pouch marked lemon
  • Pouch marked straw-peach-rhubarb
  • Shaker jar
  • Red solo cup measure
  • Ice for building and serving
  • Dried strawberries garnish

 

How to build this cocktail

 

  1. Measure 1.5 oz from the rye whiskey bottle (or empty your mini) and add to the shaker jar
  2. Measure 1.0 oz from the pouch marked madeira syrup and add to the shaker jar
  3. Measure 0.5 oz from the straw-peach-rhubarb pouch and add to the jar
  4. Measure 0.5 oz from the pouch marked lemon and add to the jar
  5. Add ¼ cup of ice to the shaker jar 
  6. Replace the ring and cover to the shaker jar
  7. Shake this cocktail for 20-25 seconds
  8. Remove the ring and slide the cover off the jar just enough to strain the drink into ice filled glass
  9. Garnish with dried strawberries in the drink
